The observation was made that some ELR (extreme long range) courses had much higher hit percentages than others. While there are many variables involved - one clear correlation was the firing angle of the targets, relative to the firing line.

Flat ranges with well-prepared firing lines saw higher hit percentages, where as high / low angle ranges with sloped firing lines yielded lower hit ratios.

The challenge was to tame the delta between firing angle and firing line conditions.

From this challenge - the product RailFeet was created.
